SLFSS

The project focuses on the development of strong, cost effective and competitive local food supply systems to reduce the dependence on long-distance transportation and imports.

A very large share of all food in most countries is produced and distributed by large companies in large-scale production facilities, often in other countries. The war in Ukraine and the corona pandemic have signalled a weakness in this dependency.

The project will create a platform for cooperation. Among the activities are a digital workshop to identify stakeholders and companies in each of the project countries. Physical workshops will be held together with industry experts to map the existing national supply chains for food and identify the resources that need to be built locally to build competitive production systems for locally produced food. The result of the workshops will be maps identifying typical types of companies and resources present in national supply chains for food. The partnership will also develop a concept for a future project that can contribute to the establishment of competitive supply chains for locally produced food.
