The aim of the project is to foster knowledge and strengthen Ukrainian municipalities’ institutional capacities in school mobility management to achieve behavioural change in safer and more sustainable travel modes.
The main needs are to improve conditions regarding urban mobility in the cities and to and from schools. For public authorities, the need is to build capacity and available solutions. For the public, to create a sense of safety and efficiency within sustainable transport modes around schools. From a climate perspective there is a need is to strategically move from fossil fuel dependency.
The project will improve the professional level and knowledge regarding issues of sustainable urban mobility and the situation with mobility safety in cities, particularly around schools. It will create conditions and systems for more sustainable mobility of children to and from schools in the medium term and establish the ground condition for development of a support network.
