The STAC-CBRNE project will strengthen the cross-border management of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive emergencies. The focus will be on the agents responsible for these fields.
Emergencies sometimes affect more than one country. It is therefore important that responsible actors in each country cooperate across the borders to be prepared for a potential crisis. Over the last years, a cross-national collaboration has been established between actors responsible for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive emergencies, so-called CBRNE actors. However, action plans and standard procedures in case of an emergency need to be put in place. The STAC-CBRNE project aims to strengthen the already existing collaboration.
Actors in the Baltic Sea region that work with CBRNE agents have already been mapped out. The current aim is to review these actors and make sure they have a plan for prevention, preparedness, response and recovery in case of a crisis. Those who are not prepared enough for a crisis will receive assistance to strengthen their organization and communication with the other partners. The project aims to establish a larger EU collaboration later on.
