The project aims to strengthen cooperation between academia and civil society to advance gender equality through education, research, and policy engagement.
Persistent gender inequalities are sustained by weak collaboration between universities and CSOs. Academic knowledge is not sufficiently applied to real-world challenges, while CSOs lack access to research-based tools for effective advocacy.
The project will develop a partnership model through joint focus groups, training, and institutional agreements. University staff and CSO representatives from Sweden and North Macedonia will co-develop educational modules and implement pilot courses. The collaboration will introduce gender-responsive budgeting into academic curricula and strengthen the capacity of CSOs. A Gender Equality Research Hub will ensure long-term cooperation and contribute to inclusive policy-making at multiple levels.
