The idea of the project came up at the Supermarket 2022 Meeting programme, during a round-table meeting of particular interest to artists working in education. Visual Arts Forum and Filip Rahim Hansson are already organising workshops and courses, Supermarket wants to develop its pedagogical programme and add a childrens’ workshop at Supermarket 2023.
Visual Arts Forum was founded right after the outbreak of the Second Intifada by artists who started to use art as a tool to express the devastating political and social reality in which they were living. Since ten years Filip Rahim Hansson has been working with children and youth in art projects in Malmö addressing segregation between city, suburb and countryside. Supermarket work with art pedagogy students at Konstfack in Stockholm.
