This project aims to empower Ukrainian energy planners to modernise energy infrastructure, enhance resilience, and promote sustainability and energy efficiency, primarily through local capacity building.
Since Russia´s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, energy infrastructures have become exposed to Russian attacks. In this context, energy planners are expected to take strategic actions to maintain and enhance the resilience of energy systems, including decentralisation.
Among the project activities are to do a comprehensive risk assessment for the Vinnytsia energy network’s vulnerability to external threats, develop a comprehensive risk mitigation plan. A task force for emergency response and disaster recovery will be formed, in coordination with the city council as well as a conceptualisation of a functional communication platform accessible to key stakeholders.
