UKR-FOLK

The project aims to strengthen Ukrainian civil society and to support Ukrainian actors engaged in youth empowerment.

Currently, there is a sense of urgency in Ukraine to engage youth in empowerment work, exploring sense of coherence, active citizenship, and collective resilience. Teachers, youth workers and mentors from all over Ukraine have expressed the need to upscale their know-how and competence on these issues.

Throughout the project duration, twelve Ukrainian teachers, youth workers and mentors will job-shadow folk high school teachers in Sweden. In addition, Ukrainian teachers, youth workers and mentors will have nine hybrid workshops where they, together with Swedish teachers, youth workers and mentors gain knowledge on the history of Scandinavian “folkbildning”, previous lessons learned when establishing folk high schools at global scale, and trauma-informed care.
