Ukrainian Sustainable Energy System

This project is about reconstruction of infrastructure during wartime. It focuses on rebuilding and improving the energy systems in Ukraine.

As a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a third of the population has been displaced to other parts of Ukraine or abroad. Infrastructure in various parts of the country has been partially or completely damaged by the war. This project stresses that despite Russia’s continued military aggression in Ukraine, the country has begun planning for reconstruction. However, reconstructing and strengthening Ukraine will require a state-of-the-art energy system that is sustainable and resilient. Consequently, this project addresses the need for new competencies in energy systems building during the war.

The project will establish a collaboration to facilitate the progress in sustainable energy systems. It will focus on the staff to be able to teach and train existing and future Ukrainians. The multiple activities of the project include establishing a virtual laboratory, developing teaching materials, introducing specialized software, and providing training seminars.
