On 12 February, the application round opens for the Swedish Institute Global Executive Programme, a new opportunity under the umbrella of SI leadership programmes. Tailored for senior executives, including CEOs and top corporate managers, the programme is designed to integrate a sustainability approach into the very fabric of their businesses, elevating it from mere initiative to a core strategic imperative.
Learning from Swedish experts and sustainable business practices
Over the course of seven months, participants of the programme will meet online to get enhanced knowledge in social, ecological, and economical sustainability from a business perspective. Participants will receive coaching by experts in the field, insights to Swedish business cases for sustainability, and an opportunity to build close collaboration with colleagues at senior level as well as Sweden and Swedish actors within sustainable business. The programme includes an on-site visit to Sweden to learn more from Swedish practices. Madeleine Sjöstedt, Director-general of the Swedish Institute:
– We are happy to offer a new programme tapping into Swedish excellence in the area of green transition. As the global business landscape continues to evolve, initiatives like the SI Global Executive Programme are positioned to play a critical role in shaping the future of leadership and collaborating with talents from the global business community.
The Swedish Institute has a long-standing experience with offering leadership programmes for business leaders. SI Management Programme (SIMP), the predecessor to SI Global Executive Programme, was launched in 2007. Over the course of 16 years, 1600 business managers participated in regional SI Management Programme and gained tools, insights and a regional network dedicated to sustainable business.
SI Global Executive Programme builds on the success of SIMP. It expands in global reach and specialises on businesses contributing to the green transition in their home countries, a well-needed priority according to Programme Manager for SI Global Executive Programme, Anna Lithagen:
– The programme comes at a time where there is a pressing need for progressive leaders who can drive change that has positive business benefits while helping to solve societal and environmental challenges. One of its unique strengths lies in the global cohort, bringing together 100 leaders from 22 countries to create a melting pot of perspectives, experiences, and opportunities. I look forward to convening, connecting and catalysing a diverse group of leaders from all over the world, taking on the sustainability challenge together.
SI Global Executive Programme is being implemented within the framework of the Swedish government’s development aid strategy and the mission stated in the Swedish institutes regulatory framework to find closer synergies between aid and trade promotion.
