In the category Information, print, Electionville is nominated. Electionville is a floor game that will engage and educate young people internationally in how democracy works. In the game, participants get to work with and practice important democratic values such as inclusion, participation and gender equality. Electionville is an adaptation of Fabel and SKR’s “The Game of Valköping” and SI will also launch a version in digital format during the autumn. In the project, SI has worked with the agency Kidler.

In the category Identity Redesign, the update of Sweden’s visual identity is nominated. Sweden’s visual identity was launched in 2013 and has now undergone a comprehensive update where all design elements and guidelines are also adapted to accessibility. The project is a collaboration with the design agency Söderhavet and with Visit Sweden, Business Sweden and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and will be launched in the autumn of 2020.

The Swedish Institute is also nominated in the category Movable Image – Editorial: In the film “changing the world with drones” we get to meet Helena Samsoe, the drone queen who started and runs the drone company GLOBHE and who, with the help of drones, wants to change the world. The film is part of a documentary film concept for Youtube, which aims to create interest in Sweden. The concept is aimed at a young international target group who are interested in topics where Sweden has a leading role such as sustainability, innovation and societal issues, such as integration, culture and gender equality.

– We want to tell about Sweden, democracy and human rights in a way that engages and interests. We do this by collaborating with creators, designers, writers and other experts. It is very fun that four of these collaborations are now noticed in the Swedish Design Prize. It will be a proof that the sensitivity to the assignment and care for the details that characterized the process, can also be seen in the end product, says Otto Degerman who is responsible for SI’s graphic production.
