Sustainability and green transition

This week, SI highlights some of the projects we have funded in the Baltic Sea region contributing to a green transition.

In the projects funded by SI, Swedish organisations work together with the EU countries around the Baltic Sea and the countries in the EU´s Eastern Partnership to solve cross-border challenges and opportunities. Below are some examples of projects that cooperate regarding issues that will contribute to a green transition:

The BIHES project: spreads the message of green transition through a handbook, trainings and an online cooperation platform. It will help decision makers and energy companies to develop, implement and analyse the potential for hybrid energy systems in the Baltic Sea region.

The EMTRADA project: shows that training and education can speed up the green transition. The project has developed training courses on electromobility systems and a network of educating universities, municipalities, and companies.

The BalticBiogasCircles project: promoted the use of biogas in the Baltic Sea region as an alternative transport fuel, by highlighting good examples from cities and regions that have seen a successful implementation of biogas as transport fuel.

The Project BaSeH2:  establishes an international and cross-sectoral platform, to discuss how to develop an independent, secure and low-carbon energy system for the Baltic Sea region covering production, distribution, storage and use.
