The Visby Programme aims at building capacity in young professionals who have the ambition to play an active role in society and to contribute to a positive development in their home countries and region.
The programme focuses on the individual mobility of young, academic talents to promote professional collaboration and lasting relations between Sweden and the programme countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine. The goal is to build an integrated, knowledge-based and research-intense region where environmental and social sustainability, innovation and responsibility in management are key factors in achieving sustainable economic growth and regional development.

Scholarships for PhD studies and postdoctoral research in Sweden
As of 2019 there will be no call for applications for scholarships within the Visby Progamme for PhD and postdoctoral research visits. During 2019-2020 we will review our current scholarship and project funding programmes. We will also look at possible new opportunities for actors in academia. The aim of this is to identify the forms of support that can most effectively deliver results in line with the Swedish government strategies for cooperation with specific regions.
Information about how to apply for a full PhD position in Sweden as well as useful links for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers can be found on studyinsweden.se.
