Sweden Alumni Network Turkey-Istanbul Chapter is organising three activities during Plastic Free Week 16-23 September 2023.
- Session 1: Plogging event on 16 September
We will gather with the alumni members and their +1 guests/family members at the closest metro station. From the metro, there will be a minibus waiting for the ones who prefer to come without their personal car. We will have a 20 min. Ride from metro station to the city forest. Degradable trash bag and gloves will be distrubited to the participants. Participants will be asked to bring their water bottle with them. Plogging will take approximately one hour, then participants meet up to talk about their experience together with collected trash. Participants will be asked to join Plastic free week challenge and share their activities online. - Online Plastic free week challenge 16-23 September
Network members will share their week without plastic on social media to grab their personal network’s attention and raise awareness on things they can do to reduce their plastic consumption. They will also encourage their acquitances to join the challenge.
They’ll be asked to tag our network and we will reshare their journey towards a plastic free week. - Session 2: Eco-fika to share experiences of going plastic free for a week on September 23
Participants and their guests that have joined the online challenge will meet up at a cafe to discuss their whole week without plastic. People mostly experience difficulties to find plasticfree sanitary products. Therefore, a little gift of toothpaste tablets will be distributed to participants to experince a new plastic free product in Turkey.
