Woodlife Sweden | Meet the Architects: Strandparken, Sundbyberg

The world’s first eight story wood building that actually looks like a wood building. Completely made of wood, from structure to façade. Join the virtual seminar during Archtober! Breakfast in New York or Fika in Stockholm.

The Strandparken housing blocks have become an example and inspiration to the entire world. Since its construction in 2013, the building has been visited by delegations from more than 150 countries, wanting to learn how to do it. It has served as an inspiration for larger wood projects in Sweden and globally.

The knowledgeable architect Gert Wingård, an expert on the subject who always suggests his clients build in wood, will guide you through Strandparken in conversation with Arvet — a developer with the motto “We need to grow our cities”. They will let us in on details about how and why wood construction is a must if we want to implement the Agenda 2030 in our cities and work toward a sustainable future. The seminar will be virtual and you need to register.
