The SI Baltic Sea Neighbourhood Programme is a programme which provides funding to projects where Swedish organisations work on cross-border challenges and opportunities together with organisations from the EU countries around the Baltic Sea and countries in EU’s Eastern Partnership.

There are two different types of grants: Seed funding which aims to lay the foundation for cooperation, for example through preparing applications for new funding (mainly EU) or to develop concepts and identify partners for future cooperation. The funding type Cooperation projects will benefit projects with the aim of further developing cooperation, for example through developing and testing models and methods, provide input to policy and strategy or building knowledge and competence.

The funding is aimed towards organisations within the public, private or non-profit sector that want to start or expand cooperation that contribute to an economically, environmentally and socially sustainable development in the region.

Kurt Bratteby, Head of International Relations has high hopes for this new initiative from SI:

– We are happy to be able to present a new programme which will contribute to developing cooperation and network building in the region. The SI Baltic Sea Neighbourhood Programme will give organisations increased opportunities to tackle cross-border challenges and opportunities together with partners in our programme countries, says Kurt Bratteby.
