Young Female Activists for Intercultural Dialogue

Feminism action is a driving force for enhancing women’s rights, fighting for gender equality and freedom of speech. Unequal power dynamics and patriarchal structures oppress women globally, limiting the tools and safe spaces available for female activists to create change and fight for their rights of expression. In Jordan, feminist terminology and words are not always directly translatable into Arabic and local female political activists experience limitations to their rights as women to express their ideas and their identity.

In this project, we aim to promote intercultural dialogue and exchange of good practices between Jordanian and Swedish-based female political activists, using the arts, visual media tools such as storytelling to uncover gender-based oppression.
