Criteria: Sustainable business

No, unfortunately not. We can only accept candidates who are: 

• citizens of one of our programme countries, and  
• whose business is conducted in one of our programme countries.  

Both conditions must be met in order to be an eligible applicant.

We cannot make any exceptions to the eligibility requirements or temporarily consider a new country.

SI Global Executive Programme is a new leadership programme. At the creation of a new leadership programme a close evaluation is made of potential programme countries based on several criteria. We follow our regulatory frameworks provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs along with an analysis of various indicators such as the potential of the market and synergy with other Swedish actors in the country.    

Currently these are programme countries of SI Global Executive Programme: Bangladesh, Brazil, China (People’s Republic of), Colombia,  Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Egypt, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Morocco, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Thailand, Türkiye, Ukraine, Vietnam

SI Global Executive Programme is built on the many years of experience carrying out leadership programmes for business leaders. What makes this programme different is: 

• It’s target group. The programme is tailored to senior executives, including CEO and top executives of medium to large companies. Each year around 100 participants will be invited to join the programme.
   
• It’s global focus. This is the Swedish Institute’s first global leadership programme including 24 countries and covering four regions in the world, Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.
• It’s thematic focus. Sustainable business has long been a thematic focus of the Swedish Institute. In this programme SI takes an even more specific look at industries contributing to the green transition in their home countries. This specialisation allows for a more tailored programme to build synergies among participants as well as between participants and Swedish businesses.

Alumni of the Swedish Institute Management Programme (SIMP), She Entrepreneurs, SI Leader Lab or other similar SI Leadership programmes are not eligible to apply for SI Global Executive Programme.   

SI Global Executive Programme is targeted towards senior level management of business organisations.

SI Global Executive Programme is targeted towards CEO and senior executives of medium to large company with the mandate to spearhead strategic changes throughout their business. In the application applicants can explain how their business operate within industries associated with the green transition or how they are about to make important commitments towards green transition. This explanation will be taken into account in the evaluation of all candidates.

We go through all the eligible applications and evaluate the information provided. Scores are provided with consideration for the aim and purpose of the SI Global Executive programme.
