Alumni Network Toolkit: Re:waste

An estimated two billion tonnes of municipal waste were generated globally in 2016, and according to projections from the World Bank, this number is expected to increase by 70 per cent before 2050.

About

While people living in high-income countries produce more waste compared to those in low-income nations, reducing waste is a global crisis that requires all of us to do our part. The Re:waste toolkit is a social media campaign for Alumni Networks that outlines the underlying problems, the steps we all have to take to get out of the situation, and clever new innovations in development and on the market.

A successful approach to solve the crisis must be based on a properly managed waste hierarchy and a striving for a circular economy. The ultimate approach to waste management is to not create any in the first place.
