An interactive platform for training in cyber security, a seminar on how to become more secure in your role as a manager and a film about gun violence linked to criminal environments. These initiatives are a selection of what this year’s campaign “Europe in my region” offers.
During the campaign, which runs from 20 to 26 September, EU projects across Europe open their doors to the public. Previously, the projects have invited visitors to physical events, but this year, as last year, the campaign is digital.
The Swedish Institute works to strengthen Sweden’s relations and develop collaborations with the countries around the Baltic Sea and the countries of the EU Eastern Partnership. Among the EU projects that participate in the campaign week, are projects and partnerships that SI has financed.
The SI funding scheme Seed funding for cooperation projects in the Baltic Sea region enables actors to start or expand collaborations in the Baltic Sea region. Many who started their cooperation with support from SI have since applied for funding from the EU’s funding programmes. SI’s follow-ups show that projects financed by SI within the funding scheme Seed funding for cooperation projects in the Baltic Sea region received an additional SEK 728 million in funding, mainly from the EU’s funding programmes. The projects included in the follow-ups had been granted a total of SEK 88 million by SI.
The funding scheme Third Country Participation in the Baltic Sea region enables the countries of the EU Eastern Partnership and Russia to cooperate with ongoing EU projects. It aims to create conditions for mutual and long-term cooperation between EU countries and non-EU countries of the region. Furthermore, it provides EU projects with a broader approach and a new dimension.
