Sweden Talks Masterclass: Climate resilience in action – from insights to impact

Join us for this year’s Masterclass on Climate resilience. The class will be held in two sessions – the first offering a theoretical foundation of climate resilience, and the second focusing on practical applications using examples from around the world. In the first session, you’ll meet members of Ramboll’s sustainability team alongside Dr. Steven Lade from Stockholm Resilience Centre as they guide us through the key concepts of climate resilience in theory.

For our first session Professor Steven Lade from the Stockholm Resilience Centre will guide us through the essential concepts of climate resilience—one of the most pressing topics in both theory and practice today.

Steven studies the resilience of social-ecological systems, from agricultural communities to planetary systems. In this masterclass, he’ll introduce the theoretical foundations of climate risk and resilience and share examples of how resilience can be built in practice.

We will explore:

  • Different types of climate risk
  • Resilience definition and misconceptions
  • Tipping points for accelerated climate risk
  • Five essential considerations for building resilience

Task before the class

To make this session as engaging and interesting as possible, we invite you to reflect on two things before attending:

  1. What are your organisation’s biggest challenges regarding climate resilience?
  2. What climate-related risk is most relevant to your organisation right now?
